Do I need a paid Claude plan?
Yes. Claude Auto Pinger requires a Claude Pro or Max plan. claude.ai redirects
Free accounts away from the usage page, so the extension detects Free plans automatically and tells you clearly.
Is it free? Do you see my chats or collect data?
The extension is completely free and ad-free, and it collects zero data.
It never reads your Claude conversations and sends nothing to external servers. Session timing, usage
percentages, and settings are stored locally via chrome.storage.local.
How does the keep-alive ping actually work?
When a ping fires, the extension opens a hidden claude.ai tab, switches to the smallest
model (Haiku 4.5), sends a short greeting, restores your previously selected model,
and closes the tab — so your Opus/Sonnet default is never changed silently.
What is Smart Skip?
Before each scheduled ping, the extension checks whether you already have an active session. If you do,
it skips the ping so it doesn't burn a redundant window. A manual Run Now always bypasses this.
Can I choose exactly when it pings?
Yes. In Settings, tick Custom ping schedule and click hours on the 24-hour grid (e.g.
03, 09, 15, 21). Presets include Every 6 h, Every 8 h, and Overnight (3 AM).
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome 88+, Microsoft Edge (Chromium), Brave, and Arc. Firefox is not supported due to
Manifest V3 differences.
